The MMX Oil Filter Housing is a premium billet aluminium replacement for BMW’s factory plastic oil filter housing, a component well known for cracking and causing oil leaks over time. Designed to suit BMW engines including the N20, N52, N54, N55, and S55, this upgrade permanently eliminates one of the most common reliability issues while enhancing durability and under-bonnet appearance.
Each housing is precision CNC-machined from a single billet of 6061 aerospace-grade aluminium using advanced 5-axis machining technology. Once machined, the housing is polished and finished in a gloss black anodised coating, providing excellent corrosion resistance and a clean OEM-plus appearance. Despite its lightweight construction, the MMX housing offers significantly greater strength than the factory plastic unit and is built to last the lifetime of the vehicle.
Unlike many aftermarket alternatives, the MMX Oil Filter Housing features an integrated pressure control oil bypass system. This eliminates the need to reuse or transfer the fragile OEM plastic bypass valve, simplifying installation while improving long-term reliability straight out of the box.
